They do not currently make a spindle lift for pre 88 trucks... that I am aware of. AIM did in the past but quite some time back and I have never heard anything good about them anyways. There are coil lifts available with tubular control arms but a spindle lift is the BEST way to keep steering geometry.

I have heard/seen people use the 88-98 4" spindle on pre 88 trucks. It does involve swapping a couple ball joints and I believe lower control arms. I have never done it or see a write up about it specifically for lifting a 2wd.

Using the coils is ok.. it gets the lift but it puts the tie rods/ball joints a severe angles and also almost eliminates any down travel in the suspension. The design of the front suspension does not lend itself well to lifting.
