I had to locate this very same tailgate for mine.

The later tailgates will not secure without issues.

Modifications to a later TailGate would have to be performed in order to achieve any functionality whatsoever.

I tried!

I literally tossed a later gate off of my 73 at speed going over a set of RailRoad Tracks.

It was very dangerous.

Luckily, after being launched about 20 feet up in the air, that nobody was behind me and it was later in the evening and less traffic around.
