I had a friend jack up both the oil pan and transmission pan at the same time (with 2x4s between jack and pans) then slide pieces of 2x4 in motor mount spot . He had to loosen tranny mount bolts and of course motor mounts. Hoses won't be disturbed with the 2-3' inches of lift.
I think this is what the GM service manual recommends. And is how I've done these jobs.
