that first link stocker posted shows what i was talking about for the IFS trucks... weve found those big ball bearings in our driveway before... never had much luck with them on the 89 (so far weve replaced the shaft on each side twice)
the way you replace it, take off the wheel, take off the big nut in the center of the hub (youll need to hold the hub somehow), now go back to the differential and start taking out the 6 bolts (easier to do this now so you can roll the shaft by rolling the hub) once you get those out you should be able to monkey the shaft out around the a-arms
