My '86 C-10 had one that looked damn similar, but it was in yellow plastic rather than white and not on a big bracket like that. It was mounted on the passenger side where GM later mounted the TBI ECU's.

No this is up near the ash tray area I think it was or the break pedel. The ECU is still in the '88 for the TBI.
