Cannot agree more. Get everything up to new as a baseline. However you might consider replacement (C20 or tubular) arms or welding reinforcement plates along each arm to tie the halves together. If you have lowered it remember to correct the pinion angle and center the axle. An adjustable bar might be the way to go. Be it old school or not air bags in the coils work too.
