The problem wasn't limited to big blocks. The rubber would separate and the torque would cause the engine to raise up away from the chassis. The fix was a metal loop that was bolted to the chassis on the drivers' side, and then a steel cable was run thru it and the exhaust manifold. My truck had one of the loops on it when we tore it down.
