I've heard of people using sbc mounts on a BB, just not heard of it that way. I know chevy had an issue with BB mount problems until 71 and their fix was a cable or chain from the motor to the frame. they changed to the clam shell mounts in 72 and a different style in 73 that I think was universal for small or big.
I look at it like this. Torque, they may hold up for a while but thats not what it was designed for. I know its been done. just not how I would do it. I'm sure someone will chime in who knows more about them.

The problem wasn't limited to big blocks. The rubber would separate and the torque would cause the engine to raise up away from the chassis. The fix was a metal loop that was bolted to the chassis on the drivers' side, and then a steel cable was run thru it and the exhaust manifold. My truck had one of the loops on it when we tore it down.
