I used "Goof-off", just spread it out in small sigments (2 ft at a time) at a time....let sit for about five-ten minutes...off it comes (keep off the painted areas, unless you are repainting). Also get a window screen spline tool, has two different size rollers...helps roll/work out those dings in the trim while you have it off!!!
