Many people when they start changing stuff on these old trucks forget to replace some grounds. I have seen this many times and it can cause electrical problems.
Originally the cab was grounded to the back of the engines, these are often left off when engine swaps are done.
I was having problems with my '67 swb steppers tail-lights and finally realized I had not grounded the bed to the frame.
I am normally on the 67-72 side of the board and many of the guys that know a lot more than me say make sure everything has good grounds, don't rely on rusty bolts to do the grounding.
Just a few thoughts.
