Shimmy in steering wheel reveals bent wheel
I have 6 Chevy steel wheels for my 1966 C-10 and 4 Toyota early FJ wheels.
While the FJ wheels are on the road now, I want to get the Chevy wheels sandblasted and powder-coated and then new tires. I have 3 near-perfect, true wheels and 2 with a slight wobble and one that will probably end up as a spare.
As far as the slight wobble, what is the tried-and-trued way of getting the wheels straightened? Big hammer or hydraulic press are 2 options that I found on youtube.
Would you attach the wheel to the rear axle and smack it true there?
I have done a search within the site and every one of the sites offer alloy wheel repairs.
Many thanks,
John
