Here is a thought. If after installing the flip kit and you don't have enough clearance, you could relocate your spring mounts (move them down on the frame, thus slightly raising the rear of the truck). I used this method to lower my '67 GMC when I used to have leaf springs. I didn't have a flip kit, but raised the front spring mounts about 1.5" to 2", and then lengthened my rear spring shackles the same amount. That along with removing a couple of the leaves gave me decent drop and best of all, it was free!
