It's not as hard as you think. DO NOT us FLUX. I made that mistake trying to be cheap. It warps the snot out of sheetmetal no matter how good you are. Use MIG and the 0.023 wire.
This is my first real attempt at doing stuff "correct" and it's going really well so far. Take your time, practice, and watch a lot of videos on youtube.
I put repop doors on my truck in 2006 and wish I never had. They ARE better (thicker) now than when I bought them, but still. So glad I saved my OEM doors. They're dent free and damn near perfect except for about a quarter sized rust spot on the bottom on each side.
I literally just started "to get at it" this weekend. Shortened a longbed floor to a shortbed and started a fender cup repair... and even the patches don't fit worth a damn! I took my time on the fender cup. The bed floor is a lot thicker and could take a lot more heat/abuse so that was actually some really good practice.
I called it a weekend before I could finish the fender.
