Door Manufacturer

I was looking at door shells on Classic Industries and sent them a note asking who manufactured them. They said they were produced by an overseas producer call Jesse Lai Inc. which i take to be Chinese. has anybody heard of them or better yet used them in their build?

Re: Door Manufacturer

I would say it is either tri-plus , goodmark or one of the other popular brands that all the vendors sell.

Re: Door Manufacturer

They all come from Tiawan , I read recently that there is a new stamping out there that fits better so do some checking before you buy to see if it's the latest edition , some threads on poor fit on drivers latch area and top window channel . still good original doors out there for sale and a $500.00 used door is still cheaper than a repop that requires a good body man to make them work .

Re: Door Manufacturer

Thanks. I have decided to take a shot at fixing mine. I think having 90 percent original metal and a good fit is better than all new and a bunch of headaches. If I screw up I can always pay up for good used.

It's not as hard as you think. DO NOT us FLUX. I made that mistake trying to be cheap. It warps the snot out of sheetmetal no matter how good you are. Use MIG and the 0.023 wire.

This is my first real attempt at doing stuff "correct" and it's going really well so far. Take your time, practice, and watch a lot of videos on youtube.

I put repop doors on my truck in 2006 and wish I never had. They ARE better (thicker) now than when I bought them, but still. So glad I saved my OEM doors. They're dent free and damn near perfect except for about a quarter sized rust spot on the bottom on each side.

I literally just started "to get at it" this weekend. Shortened a longbed floor to a shortbed and started a fender cup repair... and even the patches don't fit worth a damn! I took my time on the fender cup. The bed floor is a lot thicker and could take a lot more heat/abuse so that was actually some really good practice.

I called it a weekend before I could finish the fender.
