Yes, Edelbrocks do not like a lot of fuel pressure; no more than 6. Edelbrock recommends either their Perfomer RPM fuel pump, or an inline regulater set to 5.5, or else they flood. They also need a heat insulator gasket. They get hot and percolate the fuel, which causes hard starting issues. You definitely need to check your fuel sock, filter, and fuel lines to be sure there's no restrictions. Also, what is your timing like?
