There isn't much pressure on that fitting. You might buy a few more years out of that tank by cleaning the area up and using JB-Weld.

But you would want to use a wood dowel cut down to work the is side neck lip out by small circle turns stretch out the inside lip tighten up the seal a little if the gas fumes do not push up to much the JB- Weld should work make sure really clean around the area to use it.
The other you can do is if the tank is still good is take it to a gas tank shop have them re-soldered if cheaper then new tank. But the tank still have to come out for the shop to work on it. If you bring the tank to them will be much cheaper for the bill.
