A C-notch is usually for slammed trucks... It is a notch in the back of the frame right above the axle for more axle clearence, usually on bagged trucks or trucks lowered 6 or more inches in the rear....

Here is a pic of a C Notch, the notch is in the rear of the frame, which is the part closest to the camera in this shot...
