Lowering a 3/4 ton...

How can I lower my '72 C20? I wish it was a half ton, but this is what I have to work with. I don't think that drop spindles are available(that I know of). What is the best way to go? Heat up the coils? Cut the coils? Thanks...

There are parts available to lower anything. The front is easy - springs and shocks and spindles and air bags. Leaf or coil in the rear? Either one can get dropped and c-notched or bagged or all of the above.

5, 6, or 8 lug? Disc or drum brakes?

Look at the Early Classic Enterprises or Classic Perfomance websites (www.earlyclassic.com or www.classicperform.com).

Don't heat your coils - ruins them and your tires and your ball joints and, and, and,....

It is coil with a leaf overload in the rear. It is all 8-lug. Front disc, rear drum. I want to do it as cheap as possible. Anyone done this on a '72 C20? And what is a "C-notch"?

A C-notch is usually for slammed trucks... It is a notch in the back of the frame right above the axle for more axle clearence, usually on bagged trucks or trucks lowered 6 or more inches in the rear....
