Can't say wich one is better. I have had mine in for 3 months with no problems. I only have a stock motor though and have not done any heavy towing yet. I spent around a grand. I paid $690 for a 700r4 including freight and core from Ganterbine transmission on ebay. I paid another $125 to have my 2 piece driveshaft shortened, balanced and a new carrier bearing installed. I got a lock-up wiring kit from TCI automotive, forget how much. I paid around $150 for a tranny pressure gauge (non-mountable testing only) tranny temp gauge (instrument) and a tv cable bracket from bow-tie overdrives. I am sure I coulda went the junk-yard route for the tranny and the tv cable/bracket, I could have wired the lock-up myself using info found on the above website. But I did not. I wanted a warranted tranny and easy installation.
