If it is a passenger car type 4 speed then you would have the only one.
The actual two choices for 1983 would the SM465 RPO M20, which is the three forward gears plus a creeper (low).
The other is the MY6 New Process overdrive trans, which was a MOPAR trans with third geared 1:1 and fourth gear as an overdrive.
I am not aware of any official production records for 1983* but if it's the M20 we made several hundred thousand (probably 1/4 to 3/8 of all K10 production).
The MY6 would be more rare but still it's a regular production option so we built more than a few.

So.. with the numbers you mention above about 1/4 to 3/8 of all the k10s having the M20 transmissions in them ,,I can assume that my truck being a short bed 1/2 ton would make the ratio even lesser than 1/4 to 3/8s ,,AND I think I can advertise it to sell as a rare build from the factory ,,
I have to add this onto my reply as this morning the 2nd of April I have been up since 5 am until now looking at all the info you shared with me (and others who read this can see it also ) thank you very much .. I have learned a lot from all this...
