Anyone have records about my 1983 K10 Truck
that is a 4 wheel drive short bed, manual transmission muncie ,,, that can tell me how many were made?
Or what is the ratio of the same truck above between Automatic and manual made. I am thinking that the truck discribed above being a factory manual 4 speed is rare compared to the automatic Your thoughts appreciated

Re: Anyone have records about my 1983 K10 Truck
Can you be more specific about which "Muncie" you speak about?
If it is a passenger car type 4 speed then you would have the only one. The actual two choices for 1983 would the SM465 RPO M20, which is the three forward gears plus a creeper (low). The other is the MY6 New Process overdrive trans, which was a MOPAR trans with third geared 1:1 and fourth gear as an overdrive. I am not aware of any official production records for 1983* but if it's the M20 we made several hundred thousand (probably 1/4 to 3/8 of all K10 production). The MY6 would be more rare but still it's a regular production option so we built more than a few. K *I always say that and then somebody will pop in with some production volumes that I did not know existed.

So.. with the numbers you mention above about 1/4 to 3/8 of all the k10s having the M20 transmissions in them ,,I can assume that my truck being a short bed 1/2 ton would make the ratio even lesser than 1/4 to 3/8s ,,AND I think I can advertise it to sell as a rare build from the factory ,,
