Recommend me a LED light kit

Is there a recombed LED light kit for the all the marker and tail lights that is quality and bright and that will last, oh and that is pretty much plug and play?

I would like brighter tail lights especially becuse other drivers around here SUCK lol

You might look into a headlight relay kit first. I put one on my truck and it made a huge difference. The headlight current doesn't go through the switch, so there's a lot less voltage drop, and all the other lights are brighter, as a result. Check it out-

As for brighter brake lights, unless you have flamethrowers, people are gonna be stupid behind you, anyway. People tailgate the H*** out of me, even when I'm speeding. I guess they like the fumes?

I recommend the headlight relay as above concerning your headlights. As for all the other lights, I really like the quality of the United Pacific branded lights and run their front marker lights myself and have helped friends install them everywhere else. I went through just about every ebay/amazon LED bulb there was before finally going that way. Just make sure you get LED flashers with the ground wire or else you'll quickly find your blinkers and hazards don't work.

Believe you have a 72. Note that problems will occur with front turn/running and side marker lights with led bulbs installed. ie- no lights or flashing. It has to do with how the side markers are grounded through the front turn bulbs. Side markers alternate flash with front turn on 71/72 trucks. Wiring changes and relays or diodes may be implemented to make led's work. Easiest solution for folks that want led is to direct ground the side front markers and eliminate the side flashing like the 69/70 trucks.

I have LED lights in the rear and they work great! They are United Pacific. Yes, they are bright! I also put led bulbs everywhere else and bought a blinker switch for LED bulbs, so everything works there also.

When I first installed the rear lights, something didn't work and I had to hook up a relay for the tail lights. I do not recall what it was, but I am thinking it was the cruise control.

1. headlights: Holley Retrobright (link) the come in three colors, bright white, classic and yellow (I have classic)
2. Tail lights and front bumper marker: Amazon (link) get amber for front and red for the back
3. Side Marker: Amazon (link)

this set up took trial and error to get everything to work. Over the course of months, I purchased about eight different 1157 bulbs. This is the ONLY way I could get my front marker and the front side marker lights to work together without having professional electrical work done. Like others mentioned, you'll still need TWO flasher relays in your fuse panel at the kick panel. One for the turn signals and the second for the hazard lights.

This set-up is also the brightest bulbs that I could find that work well. I have had these for two years and no issues, and LOVE them. Everything is BRIGHT, particularly the headlights - just like a new car's LED headlights. Don't let the price fool you. They are well worth the value.

I recommend conventional incandecent bulbs for every bulb on the truck. The warmth and classic look can't be beat. Exception is the tail lights where the advantage of LED is the instant-on for brakes. The sooner the person tailgating you sees the brake light, the better. For those 2 bulbs this is what I use.

On my '72 Cheyenne, I upgraded to the LED taillights, but left the side markers and front blinker bulbs as-is. As noted above, the '71-'72s are a little trickier to change over, and as far as I'm concerned, the old school bulbs in those applications are more than adequate. Especially if the lenses are in good shape (like yours seem to be in the pics posted here in the other thread).
I do plan on the relays for the headlights, and probably a swap to the halogen or LED buckets.

On my Tundra truck I have the 3rd brake light on the cab that pulses when the brake is hit, I call it the 3rd wife light

I also have the rope light stop and turn under the tailgate but I havent decided how that would look on and old truck.

I have the cargo lamp LED board that acts both as a lamp and a third brake light. The name slips me, but I believe the member of this forum who made them up was in Texas. Works very well, just run an extra wire from your stop light switch up to your cargo lamp.

Went back and found him, looks like he hasn't been active since 5/24
