Overdrive kick-down switch bracket for straight six - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I am trying to get my overdrive transmission working as designed but I'm missing the kick-down switch and bracket. Does anyone have a picture of the bracket? I am good a fabricating but would like an idea as to where to start. My searches for this bracket has come up empty, 250 straight six.

It's a Muncie, 3 speed. With a a non-syncro 1 gear. I am trying to get it operating as it was designed, at least as close as I can get it. I just need some ideas on the kick-down bracket

I am doing the same project later this summer. I have a 72 with a 292 so it should be close to the same. How far along are you?
I have a kickdown switch and bracket but the bracket is for a 63 Impala I believe was a 283. judging from the oily film on it, it was mounted on the carb. I was thinking of mounting it on the bracket the gas pedal is mounted on so it comes in contact with the cable. I'll send you a picture of the switch and bracket later.

I have everything to complete. Need to fab the bracket, then mount the relay, hook the harness up, should be ready for testing.

I don't know. I got it like this. I sure looks lie it but again I think it came off of a 283.
What gear oil did you use in the transmission? Did you find an original relay?

I believe I used GL1 gear oil as recommended by online sources. The relay I have to use is a Standard Motor Products RY12 Relay. I have converted the engine to electronic ignition and have been told this is the relay to use for this setup.
