Thumbs down Possible California Smog Legislation

For any of you members that live in California, read this legislation! The 30year smog exemption could be changed to 45 years! I have attatched a link that will take you to the California State Senate website and you can click on the PDF file to view the legislation. If you need info. on how to contact someone to voice your opinion, I would be glad to give you the info. I will post that information later as time permits. I have been in contact with Rep. Tom McClintock and he has been very informative and fast with replies to me on this. His views express his displeasure with this legislation. The bill number is SB 708 should the link not work. Here's the link:

Thanks for the info. I e-mailed him too. I threatened a wide Anti-Flores campaign, and this info about SB-708 being desimated across many old vehicle boards, and if he does not retract his bill, he will never be re-elected.

Holy Cow!! The senator e-mailed me back, thanking for my interest and comments.

He said to go to www.sen.ca.gov. and to look under legislation, then to see amendments.

He says he changed the wording in his proposed bill to exclude classic car owners. What that sounds to me though, is your CA car/truck will have to liscensed as an ANTIQUE, thus limiting when you can drive it.

I can remember when I was in California in the Navy............................

Driving a 57 Chev, and that crap they did to that car to allow me to drive while stationed there (car was liscensed in Washington State). Even put a plug in the vent on that original setup..........that didn't last long...........

That really sucks.............but they probably are only looking at the numbers for $$$$$$$

You hit it right on the nose blue beard. Make new laws for politicians to line their pockets and steal from the poor. Sounds kind like England back in the good ol' robin hood days. Except now they have more paperwork and programs to cover their trails and make it look legitimate.

Thumbs down This Senator sucks ass.

People need to vote this Demoncrats (not a typo) out of office immediately. They do nothing to help the custom car/truck crowd.

I just e-mailed Senator Florez and told him if he didn't withdraw this amendment that I would support his opponent in the next election.

I just found this article from the Fresno Bee that talks about it.

I know we're not really Ford fans here, but the Mustang crew put together something good that could help us all out

Also if you wish to subscribe to see what action is taken on the bill, go to
