Dapper Lighting - Projector Headlights

Hey guys!

Dapper Lighting wants to know what you think about guaranteed fitment, plug-and-play projector headlights for use in your classic trucks! Classic American cars are notorious for their low-output, dim, and essentially unsafe headlights. Here at Dapper we took quality, style, fitment and most importantly, safety into mind when designing our products.

If you were to run one of our kits on your rig, what would interest you most?

A projector Halogen setup?

A projector HID setup?

A projector setup with halos?

A non-projector housing?

We're looking for trucks to "model" our products, and are offering chunky discounts to whoever's truck fits the bill. All we ask for is a few hi-def pictures and a small write-up / review. Thanks fellas!

Ugh! I hate lighting threads because they always make me want to invest in better lights! That said, i would be most interested in this kind,

I would be very interested in this setup as well. I'm was just starting to look at new lighting setups too. Also worked as a professional photographer for a while so you will definitely have good pictures to use.

I did not see the price of your lights but wont a good 13VDC source to some 65 watt bulbs be a very good and inexpensive upgrade

You are just talking about adding relays right?

Re: Dapper Lighting - Projector Headlights

I use this website all the time, you guys are great! Just spent $300 on this Chinese crap from Classic industries! Fiitment issues? Use a file on tabs they say... Do not attempt without a 4 1/2 Makita grinder,1/2" hole saw and plenty of patience! im so tired of Chinese "close enough to tolerances" crap. Go to harbor freight and tape some lights to your truck and save money.
Never got them to fit right, one bulb spring broke at first touch, second one lost spring after first fitting. In bulb signal light housing had to be ground off to even start to fit. Bulb wouldn't seat because screw in housing in the way. Would have taken photos but I threw all this crap back in box to take back after 2 hrs of frustration. I've built a lot of cars and this situation gets worse every year with cheaply manufactured parts.
Dapper take some pride in your products!
It's seems like most product lines are going this route.
Rant is over.
P.s. Tried to fit in bone stock original 1972 Blazer headlight buckets.

Whoa whoa whoa. It sounds like there was a manufacturing flaw with this unit. We did switch projector designs at one point which eliminated that screw seating issue. We're constantly making improvements to our products and take pride in providing the only true projector headlamps on the market. We're also in the process of moving production over the USA to further control quality..

The tab issue is one that is hard to control. We have "over-tabbed" units because our lamps fit vehicles from the 50s to current vehicles. Current vehicles have deeper tabs.

Can you contact us? I'd like to speak with you and figure out how to make this right. We're a small company and take pride in making sure customers are satisfied with their purchase (thus the immediate response at 9:30PM). $270 is a lot and you should be happy with your lights.

Please contact me or let me know how we can get a hold of you.

PS: I've also sent over a PM if that's more convenient.

Thanks,

Ben

Re: Dapper Lighting - Projector Headlights

Well Dapper Headlights came thru with great customer service! After a 2 yr delay on my part, Ben (the owner) and Jonathan (customer support) unhesitantly replaced my original set of lights that were early editions and sent fully updated new units that work wonderfully. There are not a lot of companies that put the client first these days but Dapper Headlights is a class act, FIRST CLASS! I highly recommend them for their products and customer satisfaction. Thanks guys!

Hey guys! Just wanted to toss out that our new FourSix LED lights are finally coming out for all you quad square headlight setups.

We are doing a pre-order for them and knocking off $240 the price for those who order now.

Re: Dapper Lighting - Projector Headlights

So, similar or improved light output vs. relays & factory lights?

Definitely improved output an way less power draw. Each headlight draws about 1.2A vs 5-6A

Do you guys still recommend adding a relay harness for these or do they work pretty good with just the factory wiring? The pictures in your other thread looked killer, just wasn't sure if that was with upgraded wiring or just the factory stuff...

Ah gotcha. If you can snag a measurement from the tabs back we can narrow down which ones would probably work. We also have a few cool tricks if it's less than 1/2" off.

I was just going to order them and pray they fit lol, but I'll try this. Thanks

I really want to run them. They transformed my '49, and I already had E46 projectors in a retrofit before.
