1972 c10 voltage regulator installation

Wondering if the voltage regulator on my 72'c10 should be rubber mounted.

Yes. The rubber mounts are called Wellnuts. I believe they are 10-32 treads.
If you can't find some let me know. I have a few left.

The "rubber mounts" don't mount to the regulator.

Like Wrenchbender said, the "rubber mounts" are Wellnuts. You stick the Wellnuts into the holes in the radiator support. Place the regulator in position, and insert the mounting screws through the holes in the regulator base, and thread them into the Wellnuts. As the screws are tightened, they cause the ends of the Wellnuts to expand and that keeps them from pulling back through the holes in the radiator support.
