Hazard Switch Stuck on ?
Remember when you where told to "Look But Don't Touch" ! Well I pushed the hazard switch in on my 71 GMC, Good news is it everything works, all lights are blinking ! But when I go to pull the switch back out, It won't budge, Not a bit, WTF is going on ? Pulled the relay to get lights to stop blinking, Anyone had this happen ? I figure it must be the first time the switch was used since Nixon was in the White House...........Thanks Guy's Have a nice Weekend !

Re: Hazard Switch Stuck on ?
yep...me too...the truck had sat for 15 years...everything worked great. Had to use plyers to get it unstuck and broke the switch. Yea! Now i get to tear into the column.
Try some wd40 sprayed in there first...will also help your shifter if it is jancky. I could hardly shift out of park.

Re: Hazard Switch Stuck on ?
Is there any update on unsticking the hazard light button? Pressed mine today, and the hazards are stuck on. I unscrewed the mounting screw and removed the whole button but that did not fix the problem.

Re: Hazard Switch Stuck on ?
I also have a question concerning the hazard switch, who sells a good replacement. I have two columns and both hazard buttons are broke. I plan on painting the no-shift column this winter and hope to replace the button.
thanks

Re: Hazard Switch Stuck on ?
WES or GMC Paul. I would stick with a board vendor that deals daily with our trucks and not just a mail order company that never had a column apart before.
Might try some penetrating oil, sewing machine oil, or even brake cleaner. Most of the column's I have had apart had lithium type grease hard caked on the switch causing them to be stubborn. A squirt of WD 40 after a few minutes freed the switch. After 40+ years you would be stubborn n brittle too.
