opinions

Everybody has differant opinions.I recently bought a swb frame from a board member. He was building a driver and stated the frame as such with $2200 in new parts. The frame looked nice in the pics and I expected some pitting since he stated it was for a driver.I paid $1600 for the rolling frame $900 in advance and $700 upon picking it up.I drove 400 miles 1 way to drop off parts to another board member and pick it up.I had been up for 2 days when I got there so I just took a quick look loaded it and hit the road. After bouncing around on the trailer for over 400 miles on the trip home I noticed the paint cracking and rust scales on the trailer when I got home.I started poking between the frame and the bracing plates above the rear springs. The more I poked the more crumbled away.Name: 000_0001.jpg

Re: opinions

Oh man! That's a lot of $ for a rear and front end... I hope all the new parts were a front disc conv with spindles, springs, shocks and bars to make up for the large cash outlay. Have you peaked inside the rearend yet?
I know how you feel as I am in the middle of a camper teardown. Missrepresented. I am making a utility trailer out of it. An expensive one.....

Re: opinions

All the new parts where as represented springs, shocks, brakes, balljoints etc all where brand new with 0 miles.I just don't see how anyone would waste their time putting that much money in new parts on such a junk frame.

Re: opinions

Sorry to hear about the dilema. I was raised to trust people,go by there word and make a deal with a handshake. It is very hard to deal this way in todays world.
