Finally got my windows installed, had another thread going with the new door install http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=292528. Here ae some pics of the finished work. These are from one piece products ( no corner plates needed ). Sure does let ALOT more air in the cab.

Re: 1 piece windows

How do they work and did you get the power or manual setup?

Re: 1 piece windows

manual set-up, and they seem to work pretty well. So far the windows DO NOT rattle when they are down and you are driving down the road. Fits pretty good.
Took a total of about 8 hrs to do both doors ( was the 1st one I had done and figured out a few tricks to make the next one even easier ) . The next set should go quicker.

Re: 1 piece windows

so do they roll down all the way flush to the top of the opening? I have the Brothers 1 piece and seem to work good I have a problem when rolling the windows up at 65 plus mph they want to suck out at the last 1 inch or so. I did get mos of this resloved as they first did this at a slower speed.
I like them

they roll down and bottom out on the internal bracket that has the bumper and are below the edge of the door in the rear and about 3" of the leading edge of the front of the glass sticks up past the edge of the door about 1/8", but when I installed the glass wipers you cant see it. ( the wipers are about 3/4" tall and the glass disappears into them, I'll take a pic tonite and post.

I've been waiting for pictures of this install for while. If you could post some lessons learned with the pictures that would be great too. Is there away to modify the the lower bumpstop to get more down travel?

Thanks,

Re: 1 piece windows

x3 on the close-up pics + installation observations you would do differently vs. the instructions.

Re: 1 piece windows

There will be in-depth pics and installation instructions in the Oct/Nov. issue of Truck Builder ( Josh is working on the layout as we speak ). It was pretty much a straight forward install. The only "difficult" part of the whole installation is in "clearencing" the internal bracing ( on the inside ) at the front of the door . You have to "modify" it because the window passes so close to the support. We had to do trial and error as to how much to "modify" as no two doors are the same.
Other than that you only have to change out the 2 rollers that run in the new lift track and cut out the tab at the vent widow area ( so the window will work correctly. Here is the link to the installation instructions:
http://www.onepieceproducts.com/imag...nKit_67-72.pdf
All in all it appears to be a really good kit.

Re: 1 piece windows

If I can be of any help with questions or problems please let me know, be more than happy to help in any way possible. I will take some closeup pics tonite and post them. As far as modifying the internal window stop it could be "modified" to allow it to drop ( I just didn't do it, and am going to back up and do it ).

Re: 1 piece windows

I pick my truck up from the paint shop tomorrow They installed these windows and they look good. He said it wasn't difficult (of course they're a body shop so....).

Didn't get a chance to play with them but will post up pics tomorrow.

Re: 1 piece windows

Yes, they're from One Piece... they were all the way up when I stopped by today. All new glass and corvette red paint! They were putting it back together so I can't wait to see it all cleaned up.

I also put in some LED taillights and the headlights with built in turn signals (the front of the 67 looks a bit cleaner), shaved sidemarkers/mirrors/gas cap too.

It's a mid-price job which is good enough for this truck. Sorry to go on like this without pictures.... pick it up tomorrow afternoon and will post as soon as I get her home.
