frame rust!

Just got under my truck to check out what I need when I get around to replacing the trailing arms, and I found out the frame area where the spring and clamp attach to is rusted through on the right side.

My thinking is, first, does anybody sell frame pieces that can be welded in? If not, can I just take a piece of 1/4" steel under there and weld up the frame?

1/4 is pretty big// you can cut back to where the steel is solid and weld a patch in but make sure you make a template with referance marks before cutting //i normally used 3/16 or 1/8

Occasionally board members will cut patch sections from donor frames and sell them in the classifieds section also. Here is an example:

i had the same problem with my frame and i got the section of frame from bills truck shop.I just braced the frame with stock angle steel,cut out the bad and fit and welded in the new piece
