Re: looking at a 78 jimmy

Check out underneath where the drivers seat belt bolts to the floor. Also the condition of the cab supports and pans. It looks like it is in pretty good shape.

Re: looking at a 78 jimmy

thanks never seen like that design wondering if it factory paint....little rust on back window.................he says.........136k on the body, less than 10k on the 350 engine, auto with locking hubs (not full time 4x4). New parts in the last year, rad, Holley Truck Avenger carb, new dual exhaust, new rear window crank and new 31" tires. Front seats need attention, but have original seat. A bit of rust on tailgate/window edge. $3500.00 Certified delivered.......asked for more pics

Re: looking at a 78 jimmy

Not bad. The rust in the pics does not look all that bad. just hard surface rust maybe. Take a couple of hours, buy new weatherstripping, sand and IMO put bedliner along the bottom. Spray on or roll on.

Looks like a Truck Avenger, the list (model) number should be on the front of the Choke horn. ( you can see them there in the first pic. )

Re: Jim Bob a build thread

thanks after thinking it over i decided to roll it
it will take about three coats, blue is still coming threw
this is one coat, and the red looks burnt orange in the sun(cause of the blue)
on my last "roll on" is was covering a burgendy kinda red and it worked great too
but i didn't thin anything out, some lines showed
the red did fade but i just recoated it till the (car)died
for this I will try thinning after about three coats of thick
works with wood lol why not try a truck
i used a small foam roller(i take a pic of it next time)
i figured knock off the bugs and bad runs after 3 coats
try a thin coat then
did the hood @ noon maybe easier if it was cooler, roller wouldn't almost stick

Re: Jim Bob a build thread

thanks man!
how much paint do you think a suburban will take for the whole car?

I want to use Rustoleum and that is pretty expensive over here:
0,75 liter go for €25,- (euros)
so
0,2 gallons go for 35 US dollars over here
