91 Suburban Dash Shell

Has anyone put the suburban dash shell in their trucks? I am looking into this for one, the use of a double din radio(late model Monsoon) and second, someone decided they wanted my cd player more than I did and trash the dash shell that is in the truck now

Anyhow, I have to take this shell out and decide what I am gonna do from there. damn

yes the metal behind the dash, i do not see why I couldnt use it. I was curious if anyone has done it. Just have to track one down. They are few and far between around here.

I too would like to know if the metal dash shell is different or if it's just that section where the radio is that is different. If the late model dash bezel itself will match up and the metal behind it for the radio opening can be modified, I would be willing to do that.

Sucks about the radio. If the dash shell isnt seriously bent, you may be able to get away with cutting out the radio section and riveting a new piece of sheet metal in along with replacing the dash bezel which I assume the thief also broke. Changing out the entire dash shell would be a real chore so personally I would opt to repair it if possible. Got any pics of the damage ?
Nah, i do not have any pics of the damage. You are right tho, they busted the bezel and cluster up. Damn, it pisses me off to even think about it. When the took it the pulled the bottom of the metal dash up and it distorted the whole thing all the way around...

well then yes you can use it with out trouble. just watch out it is tack welded up top.

And as for stealing radios, thats why i put razor blades on the back side of the radio. THEY WILL BE CUT.

That is an idea, probably stop them in their track.
