I couldn't take it anymore (rollbar)
Well I thought this roll bar was going to grow on me but I decided this morning before starting on the interior that it had to go. Wasted hours prepping it for paint and now I'll have to repaint the windshield frame or come up with a use for the 2 little stubs left after cutting the rollbar out. If anyone is interested in the bar I listed it in the parts section. I think it looks so much better even with the training wheels which are also for sale.

Re: I couldn't take it anymore (rollbar)
Well I'm a 4x4 guy but I do like it better with out the rollbar. 2x4 trucks look kinda silly with a roll bar, unless it's a drag truck...you belly scrappers don't need a cage anyway

Re: I couldn't take it anymore (rollbar)
How about using the stub pieces to mount two air gauges for the bag setup. (I'm assuming it's going to be bagged.) I like it SOOO much better withOUT the roll bar. Also which set of wheels are you running?

Couldn't you do a "skin" around a conventional roll bar.

Re: I couldn't take it anymore (rollbar)
You could, but I was thinking the ease of bending sheet metal as opposed to a pipe bender. Plus I could tie it into my 'B' post and support the bottom to my frame. Kinda like tranmitting the load all the way down and to my frame. I think present day technology says .125 wall thickness
Ther was a guy over on CK5, that went into theory of a round pipe as opposed to a square, short version, round handles side impact better than square This guy lost me after the first post, heavy heavy stuff. This guy is a genius, so who am I to question his thoughts

Re: I couldn't take it anymore (rollbar)
Looks way better without the rollbar IMO. They look more at home on 4x4's

Looks way, way better without the roll bar. I'm not a fan of roll bars in 2wds. Looks like you swapped wheels too.
