Finally making progress on my interior

The weather here has been in the 60's the last couple days so I have been trying to get as much done on the K5 as possible. I added some fatmat to the most of the floor and wheel tubs but still need to finish behind the tubs. Keep in mind this blazer will probably never really see rain, I've had it two years and only put a few hundred miles on it so please dont give me too much crap about the way I did the sub. I'm hoping once I get the back seat installed it will help break up the look of the side panel, I think it might look a little too color matched but I think its growing on me. I still have to build the amp rack on the other side, and smooth out some wrinkles, ... but thought I would post some pictures of my progress

Here is what it looked like when I started, with my little helper giving orders ha

Frame for the box

Hole cut in inner side panel to gain extra depth for sub

couple layers of fiberglass added

After a couple layers dried I pulled it out and added 7 more layers of fiberglass and built the top panel. I carpeted it to help stop any rattling (forgot to take pictures of that)

New carpet kit installed and wrapped the panel in vinyl

Re: Finally making progress on my interior

Thanks. I think I need to swap the colors on the 6*9 grills though, I think that will look better.

a little more progress. I still need to sand the door panels down, re-dye them and build some door bottoms, and get the back seat recoved ...

Thought the young'en was you when you started this project, LOLL. Looks good so far. I would try to smooth out the wrinkles in the speaker boxes though. Did you put any foam under the cloth? That usually helps a bit. Where did you get the bucket seats? They look sweet. jim

The worst thing you could do is get into my sights, but that don't matter, you'll never know it, cause you'll never hear the shotJim or Paladin whichever you choose.

I pulled the vinyl back off, heated it, and then used better glue so they are actually all gone now. I just used some carpet under the vinyl, it looks much better now.

The buckets are from a newer f*150

I thought they looked familiar. Looks awesome. I like where you installed the speakers and amp. What rear seat are you going to use? Maybe a folding rear from a Expedition...

F150? Oh well, no matter. Was bracketing difficult and how did you deal with the seatbelts? I hate to admit Ferd did something right but those seats are cool. Is there a console in there someplace? jim

No the brackets are completly flat so I just drilled some holes and welded some supports to the bottoms side. Seat belts are all built into the seat so I didnt have to do anything with them.
