Rear Disc Brake Brackets

These brackets are for putting disc brakes on your 10 or 12 bolt pickup rear differential with the 5 on 5 bolt pattern. They are designed to use the '78 and up metric passenger car calipers and Lincoln Mark IV rotors. A list of part numbers will be provided. The brackets are powder coated in gray hammertone and come with grade 8 fasteners. Price is $70.00 shipped to your door in 2 to 3 days. I have 3 sets of these available.

Thanks Joe, Yeah I made these about 8 or 10 years ago, they just don't seem to sell around here. I thought I'd try and sell what I have left on here, and if there seems to be continued interest, I'll make some more. Let me know when you're ready and I can set you up with this style or a different one.

Re: Rear Disc Brake Brackets

Ok here are some installed pics of the brackets. One thing I forgot to mention in the first post is that when using this setup you will most likely need to have the flanges of your axles machined down to 6.250" OD. This is needed to accomodate the lincoln rotors. If you have aftermarket axles, I would check them first before assuming it needs to be done. If you don't have a way to get them machined in a lathe, this can be done with an angle grinder, a good hard wheel and some patience. Typically you will need to take off .250" (1/4") of the diameter or .125" (1/8") around the circumference.

Upon setting up this assembly to take pictures today, I discovered a small issue with a reman caliper I picked up today. As I have read in the last couple of years, the castings of the reman calipers can vary from mfg to mfg. This became apparent with the newest caliper having 3 bosses that were interfering with the caliper bracket. This was easily taken care of with a flap disc on a grinder, providing a bit of clearance. Back when I originally made these brackets, I had not run into this issue. As a comparison I have included a pic of an OEM 3rd Gen F- body e-brake caliper.

Let me know if you have any further questions, or if you need to see something not shown in these pics.

No, I was just showing the two different calipers for comparison. You would have either no e-brakes using the front calipers or both calipers having e-brakes when using rear calipers such as the 3rd Gen F-body or the '83-'87 Eldorado, Riviera, Toronado rear calipers.

Re: Rear Disc Brake Brackets

Maybe I missed it but from what year models are the lincoln rotors from. What are the year models or part numbers for the calipers used? Fill me in on this.

Re: Rear Disc Brake Brackets

The rotors IIRC are '77-'79 Lincoln Mark V rear rotors. The calipers are most any 'metric' size passenger caliper that GM introduced in '78 and used up into the late 80's. The '83-'87 Eldorado, Riviera, and Toronado, as well as the '82-'88 F-bodies had rear calipers with a built in E-brake. I can get some part numbers tomorrow

Re: Rear Disc Brake Brackets

would you still have brackets available? Those are pretty sweet being that they are shipped to your door already powdercoated for the price.

I don't have anything for a 6 lug application yet. Maybe in a couple months when I get some time.
