Calipers will not fit on drop spindles...

I'm finally getting around to putting on my DJM drop spindles and Performance online 1.25 rotor kit. No matter what I do I cannot get the rotors to turn after I install the calipers. I called Performance Online and they use the stock heavy half ton calipers and rotors. Anyone ever had a problem with DJM spindles not being machined correctly?

Re: Calipers will not fit on drop spindles...

Where are the rotors coming into contact with the calipers? Or is it "pad" pressure against the rotor?

Yeah, what s10fan asked....
Also do you have the correct calipers for the 1.25" rotors?

If your pads are tight on the rotor, you need to compress the caliper before installing it on the new spindle just like you do when you put new pads in.

I had this problem but it resolved itself after some driving. There is going to be some contact between the pad and rotor regardless. However getting the calipers to recess will help a lot.

Re: Calipers will not fit on drop spindles...

The rotors do not come in contact with the caliper, it's the outside pad pressure. The caliper(d52) is fully compressed and the inside pad is not touching the rotors. The outside pad is keeping the the rotor from turning without a tremendous amount of force. It looks to me like the spindle shaft (where the inside bearing rides) is not machined enough and causing the caliper to be off center. I have been to autozone to compare all the 1.25 calipers, pads and bearings are the same measurements as mine. I think I'm going to removed the bosses where the caliper slide pins mount to move the caliper closer to the outside of the spindle.
