Re: Dimensions Please

Can you make a drawing or show a picture of what you need then?

Re: Dimensions Please

I believe what Zack is asking for is the measurement from the inside fender lip on the drivers side to the inside fender lip on the passenger side. It should be around 70" plus or minus.

Sorry I can't help with this ATM Zack. I might be able to tomorrow if someone else hasn't by then.

Re: Dimensions Please

Thank's Captain, then if the width of the rear fender opening was 12 1/2", double that, plus 50" = 75" +/-.

the illustration at the top of the page shows the dimension of 72" for the overall width of the box so therefore the inner dimensions of the lip cannot exceed that measure. the est by the Capt seems about right at 70" figuring about 1" for each lip

something wasn't jibing with the measurements so I did this:

my bed is disassembled so, using the cross sills, the measurement to the wheel tub mounting surface on the fenders is 72"

(this was 71" from outermost bolt hole CL's on cross sill + 1/2" (as measured)each side for bolt hole to tub mounting surface, 71 + 1/2 + 1/2 = 72)

this already means the illustration above must be wrong

the distance from the tub/fender mounting surface to the inner flange surface is 1 1/2" each side. (the flanges, BTW, are each 1 1/2" deep).

all this gives 75"

also, just for cross reference:

the depth of one of my wheel tubs is 11" and the distance from the tub mounting
surface on the fender to the inner flange is 1 1/2" = 12 1/2" which is the same as aerotruk's
earlier measurement

Re: Dimensions Please

I measured the width on a '63 SWB that my son just bought, and it measures 75 7/8" from inside of left fender lip to inside of right fender lip. The bedsides don't really look flared out, but I suppose it is possible that they could be out 7/16" each side. I guess I need to measure the inside of the wheel well to the lip and see if it is 12 1/2".
