Thank's Captain, then if the width of the rear fender opening was 12 1/2", double that, plus 50" = 75" +/-.

my bed is disassembled so, using the cross sills, the measurement to the wheel tub mounting surface on the fenders is 72" (this was 71" from outermost bolt hole CL's on cross sill + 1/2" (as measured)each side for bolt hole to tub mounting surface, 71 + 1/2 + 1/2 = 72) this already means the illustration above must be wrong the distance from the tub/fender mounting surface to the inner flange surface is 1 1/2" each side. (the flanges, BTW, are each 1 1/2" deep). all this gives 75" also, just for cross reference: the depth of one of my wheel tubs is 11" and the distance from the tub mounting surface on the fender to the inner flange is 1 1/2" = 12 1/2" which is the same as aerotruk's earlier measurement
