Modifications with larger springs?
Hello, I have been thinking about putting in about a 2 inch lift for my 77 but after a little thinking I'm pretty sure that I would be fine by putting in 3/4 ton springs instead of 1/2 springs....it will give me a little lift and let me tow a little more...I was just wondering what other modifications I would have to make for the 3/4 springs because my truck is just a C10 and made for the 1/2 springs...
I only put this in 73-87 because I want to know the things I need to change on a 77... Thanks

Re: Modifications with larger springs?
Can I get the one ton springs anywhere? I don't see them in LMC...just the 3/4 and do you know what mods I would need to do? Or do they just fit right where the old ones go?

Re: Modifications with larger springs?
For the front coils you need the HD coils in the LMC catalog. They only list Std and HD.
For the rear springs you may need to move the shackle mounts back to the rear holes for the 56" spring if you are putting in 3/4 ton leaf packs, unless you already have 56" springs. My 82 Chevy C10 (Camper Special) had the 56" springs and I think it even had 1 more leaf, my 87 GMC 1/2ton had 52" springs and 1 less spring than the 82 C10 had... both were longbeds.
