My first truck, frame off restro. 1972 gmc

When I was 13 I bought a 72 long bed, orange with white stripes. Now me and my dad are doing a complete frame off restoration. I will adds pics later, and tips are welcome. Yesterday got the frame painted with POR15

we took it apart then lost intrest, but have started putting it back together now. hers some pictures.

cool truck, man......i love the color and the floor is in pretty decent shape. i hope my son wants to build my 67 with me, when he is 16. i have it waiting on him. it's great to see your father/son build on its way...from the looks of your pics, its gonna be awesome when you get finished! keep at it, it will be worth it

ThanKs! and I like the color too, Were going to repaint it the same. And the floors were pretty good, but we put in new ones just to be safe

Not many updates today, but got paint and gaskets for the motor, time for a paint job.

yeah I will and that stuff doesnt come off at all. Got the floor welded up and a fender finished.

Thanks! And I'll post some pictures sometime at least by this weekend, I'm busy with school, work and hunting coming up, but trying to stay bust on the truck!

got the front fenders painted and put on finally! inside of cab and dash are also painted. Wiring from the cab to the motor is a pain in the a$$, should have marked the wires better...

Got it all wired up, put the gas tank back in, through in a battery and some anti freeze. She fitted right up after just 3 or 4 years of sitting! She's getting there.

Had a buddy come over with his 71 so I could look at wiring and gas line set up. He has a very nice pitinad orche truck!
