Headliner install

Did a search and didn't find an answer, but I know the answer is out there and
i just didn't find it.

I want to add a factory style headliner and trim to a factory non-headliner cab.
Can this be done? I'm sure it can, just can't find the install pics.
Anything special that needs done to complete this?

Pics would be great, or links to past installs maybe?

Re: Headliner install

Sure.. I did it on mine.. not too bad, but it does require some work.. The worst part is working with your heads over your head for a extend time.

Wow. Stared at those links for a little while. Not sure i want a headliner bad enough to go through all that work.

And thank you for the informative response.

Re: Headliner install

Here's a DIY yourself link from Brothers Truck parts that I found when searching for info to replace mine: http://www.brotherstrucks.com/techar...20INSTALLATION

Just don't use Super 77 adhesive - it won't work. I tried three times. Go with the black 3M weatherstrip adhesive. Good luck. Pete

Re: Headliner install

Kinda off topic, but has anyone been successful removing the trim w/o breaking the tabs and reusing it? I changed color in my '72 Sierra but haven't touched the headliner (just don't look up). I have N.O.S. trim I'm saving till it's fully restored

I got close one one set but most seem to have that patina'd crazed appearance rather than a bright finish.

Re: Headliner install

I changed "interior" color w/o touching the paint...so far. I'm talking about removing my original headliner trim and reusing it for now. It seems the tabs are just plain prone to breaking no matter how careful you are...unless someone has a secret out there.
