Re: Doors and locks
Are the lock stems aftermarket? Or blocking it from going all the way down somehow?

Re: Doors and locks
Every one I have had, you have to use the key to lock them

Re: Doors and locks
You would be correct. You can't push the button down or lock it with the key and then close the door. The button will pop back up. It is a safety feature so you can't lock your keys in the truck... LockDoc

Did not give it much thought but what you say makes sense. Thanks for sharing that info.

Yes, that usually works, and sometimes after a while you can adjust them back in a little. LockDoc

Re: Doors and locks
My door lock stems are stock i can take them off and it makes no difference. With the door shut you push them down while in the truck they dont lock. With the door shut the key will move the lock stems down .Remove the key push it the door button and the door opens not locked!So..............

Also roll the window down and spray some penetrating oil on the back of the lock and on the latch. You can see down in there pretty good with the window down, if you use a good light. LockDoc

Lock it with the door open, then see if you can push in the outside door button with the door still open. If not, there is something up with the lock mechanism. If it does lock, you have an adjustment/striker issue.
