Speedometer cable Length for 4x4's (and others). :)

After searching the forums and coming up empty on how long the 60-66+ 4x4 speedometer cable was I finally braved the snow and removed mine (my warm shop is full right now...grrr). Its a 1960 K10 and it is the 120" one. There are several available for our trucks, including a 63", an 83", and a 120".

Here are the part numbers for (hopefully) someones future reference.

Oreilley's and Autozone can get them via special order, as well as Summit and Jegs.

63" - ATP Y-804
83" - ATP Y-803
120" - ATP Y-863

NAPA also carries them in their Balkamp line but they are $10-$15 more and a few are a little longer than the oem.

63" - BK 6151604
87" - BK 6151606
100" - BK 6151607
120" - BK 6151616

I found a cross reference for the 120" cable in a Pioneer brand, which O'Reilly's could get from their warehouse overnight rather than the 4-5 days on a special order. It is Pioneer CA-3038. Not sure on the other part numbers thru Pioneer however. I bought this one for my truck and is fit perfect.

Hope this helps

I found another Pioneer number, the CA-3004 crosses to the ATP Y-803 - the 83" cable.

Re: Speedometer cable Length for 4x4's (and others). :)

I'm not sure of the difference between a 1960 and a 1966 k10 truck, however I do know the Speedo cable from my truck is 144" long.

The longest cable I can find is 120" has anybody ran into this before or know where to find the proper length cable?

Thankyou.

I ended up ordering a 140" cable for a 60s Corvair, lets hope it works well.
