Heater box with factory flaw
I have this heater box on my truck and if you look carefully, you can see a stud attached to what looks like a wingnut actually formed in there. Never seen another one like it. Anybody else come across one?
The pic isn't the best quality.

Can you sharpen it up some? I think I can see what you are talking about, but not sure.

Look in the lower left of the pic. The wingnut is facing towards the right, the stud (or bolt) to the left.
I'll take another pic soon.

its identical but in a different location ...mine farther towards the passenger side fender on the box

I've seen em on a few trucks that I've restored. The ones that I have seen are 5/16-18 X 1" long allen head cap screws.
