Someone save this truck

72 flint built truck looks like a v8 custom deluxe with cargo light, ac, rust free tool and stowage door, with very minor rust below the door. Straight tailgate, interior all there nice hood. The truck looks 95% complete just in prices. Was originally white roof over Hawaiian blue with the belt molding trim atleast. Wood bed floor. It’s at a junkyard near my house and the looking to sell complete before parting out. The inner and outer grill is in excellent shape as well. Did I mention no rust I could see anywhere except a few small bubbles immediately below the tool box door? It’s been repainted but the paint and body work look pretty decent and I think would cut and buff pretty nice. If it does end up going for parts I’m going be buying a lot of stuff.

More

Price is 3K pm me if interested. I would buy it but just don’t have the resources right now. It’s exceptionally straight and looks very rust free.
Cluster and glove box door are on the seat.

Re: Someone save this truck

That would make a nice truck with just a bit of work and some $$$. If I were closer and needed another project that would be a perfect candidate. Looks like it would save someone looking for a nice truck at least $3K in body work.

Have to have the cash to do it. Just spent a lot of my savings on a down for my Yukon Denali plus I’ve got two flippers I’m working on already.

Re: Someone save this truck

Truck is sold!!! (Not to me) it appears to be going to an awesome home! I’m sure the new owner will pipe up soon enough. Glad we could save another one from an untimely demise!

Re: Someone save this truck

Thank you again, 57taskforce.
After a moment of shock, my wife took the news pretty well. I just won't count on any father's day presents.

As so many have done before, I'll try to keep up on the update posts.
Thankful to everyone here for all the great advice!

Re: Someone save this truck

Sad part is there proubly someone who spent years trying to buy this truck the owner passed the kids or the grandkids gave the yard the truck for free to get rid of it
I asked about a 50s gmc over 30 years old fella I am going to rebuild that said the same thing in his 90s grandkids scrapped everything

No big deal on my end at all, I know how passionate we all are about these trucks and I’ll be damned if I’m gonna let a nice one get killed off! Glad I could help the new owner and the truck into the next chapter of there lives!

I actually was talking to a local body guy/painter a little bit ago, he bought some square body doors from me. He told me that a local dealer had just taken a blue 72 on yesterday as a trade in on a used car. He said it had no motor. I showed him a pic of this truck and sure enough, same one.

I’m going to pm you my wife’s number; can you relay that part about me having a great heart? I’m confident she is quite skeptical most of the time JK!
