Were three point seatbelts part of a package?
My Highlander truck has holes in the B pillars for seatbelts but there are none there and I only have lap belts. Were the three point belts part of a package or did they put the mounting holes for them in all trucks

They were a VERY rare option on these trucks. RPO code A85. Not a part of a package. Stand alone option. Could get them front and rear on Blazers and Suburbans too.

I have a "1B8530 - Belt Molding" listed on the glovebox sheet.

Re: Were three point seatbelts part of a package?
Belt molding refers to upper and/or lower trim on the exterior of the truck. Shoulder belts were a stand alone option but were not 3 point. They were separate harnesses and a pain in the butt to use so the option was not often ordered.

Re: Were three point seatbelts part of a package?
All the trucks came with the holes already in the pillar, that even included the 1973-1975 square body trucks, which were also 2pt lap belts. You could order 3pts. It wasn’t until 1976 that 3pts were installed in all the trucks.

Re: Were three point seatbelts part of a package?
Yes, because the shoulder belt did not have a retract feature so it was hard to lean forward with the belt on if it was adjusted correctly.

Re: Were three point seatbelts part of a package?
As I posted, my truck has holes for the shoulder belts so I wondered if someone added them and then someone else removed them to return it to the original or it the belts were originally there at one time I haven't looked close but it looks like the holes in the pillar were stamped in as they have a small notch to them and do not look drilled recent meaning they were painted over when the repaint was done on the truck.

Re: Were three point seatbelts part of a package?
Ahh, that makes more sense then and that is what I was wondering.
