I used Sanderson C6 - Big Block Chevy Full Length Headers...they tuck up between the frame rails but if you use them you will need to move the oil filter. Just no way to remove it with the headers in.

So you're using the original style '72 BB mounts in the stock BB location?

So far thats whats goin on, stock mounts in the stock location, may need to modify a bit, depends on final clearances etc. waiting on the Tranny to arrive, and a whole lot of other parts. Big project short deadline.

Well here are a few more pics, some shots of the mounts, and clearance, and some test fitting of the headers (these are just for mock up).

Don't have the Serpentine setup in yet, on order, and the valve cover is giving me issue on the booster side, the booster on this c20 is 10 1/2" wide and doesn't leave much room at all, I will probably replace it with a smaller diameter one.

Re: 572 update

Oh and for anyone wanting to use a 4L60-E, 4L65-E, 4L70-E, 4L80-E, or 4L85-E you can get one of these and have no issues.

http://www.crateenginedepot.com/stor...57-P722C0.aspx

of course though if you are using a carb setup you will require the TPS from Holley part #534-202

Re: 572 update

A couple of the parts that I make and sell may help you with the booster to valve cover issue.

Re: 572 update

Very nice project! I would love to put a massive 632 in my Suburban, but I've spent to much on the vette!
Are you doing any driveline upgrades/ chassis strengthening?

Other info for those that care...You can get standard deck big block capacities up to about 598ci (same size demension engine as your standard 396-454), then with the higher deck the skys the limit! well almost, You can easily get up to the 700+cube! Ive got a standard deck 540cuber in my Vett with 755BHP, You have to do some chassis strengthening and use a heavy duty drivetrain, otherwise expect constant breakage!

Curious who you purchased the super-matic and the controller from? Have you received them yet? I've got more questions and notes to compare with you about this tranny set up however I don't want to swamp you...

No clearance issues IF you use the pancake A/C compressor. The more reliable Sanden compressors are too long and hit those really nice valve covers. So I'll just keep mine, too!
