Have you ever.....

Has any body ever fixed a fleetside short bed floor with a floor from a long bed? I just picked up a nice 67 SWB but the dummy let leaves pile up in the bed and now it has a few good size holes in it. I have several long beds and have though about sacrificeng one to the short bed gods! HA HA! Anyway welding and fabricatinf is not a problem I was just curios if any one has done this before I tear the bed apart. Thanks ahead of time.
