I personally like the stock bench, nice and comfy. Don't know about trying to take hard corners in a bench seat though. The only thing I would do to it is cut the legs down a little so it sits lower for more head room.

The 88-94 seats (remove the head rests) are perfect except the stock seat mount needs to be "angle cut" to kick up the front a little.
They seem to work fixing the height and depth problems of the stock seats.
Otherwise,... I'd use a stock bench, with shortened seat mounts, for head room.

If you go with 99-up seats, they have integrated seat belts, but they're kinda tricky to make look "just right".

However, a stock bench can be made to look good and still be somewhat "supportive". I need to have the seat brackets lowered and some good 3-point belts in my truck though.

88-98 bench would be top choice for seating. Readily available & usually @ a decent price (if not free). Low/no hassle bolt-in. Easy fab work for the height adjustment as Lolife described.

The end years of the production run had each seating position 'formed' into the seat foam which would be better once you start killing cones .

X2 on the 88-98 benches , I have one in mine with the built in arm rest and I love it.

As far as seats go, I guess it depends on what you plan on doing with the truck, I've seen a lot of built up and tricked out shop trucks. If you are planning on putting a suspension that handles (I know you will), then a bench seat might not be the best choice to keep you in place in the corners. I've got one of those stock benches in mine and even modest corners and I am sliding around. I also am going to be getting rid of that bench for a 60/40 slit with head rests, I just don't like the idea of the back glass being the first thing my head hits in an accident.

Rob....good to see you building a chevy.....finally!! Go for the 67-68 buddy buckets, super comfortable for a driver and work pretty well at keeping you put in the seat. And they should work ok for your 6'2" physique! You should put the 72 grille back in it, looks way better than the 69-70 grille it has in it. I have a rebuildable 5.7 ls1 all aluminum v8 if you want it..$600 it's not mine but I have it at the shop. And if you want something really cool I have a 6 sp auto out of a 09 Cadillac CTS-V, which we bought and couldn't use. Give me a call I have a ton of stuff for that truck!

PCHRODS, what kind of seat do you have? If you didn't live on the other side of the country, I'd take that engine/trans. off your hands.

Rob, those buddy buckets aren't too hard to find, but they're usually pricey when you find them. They would look pretty sweet though.

Rob I put a 88/98 60/40 split bench in my 71 GMC about six months ago and that is one of the better moves I made but you would most likely need to section the seat bases to get it a bit lower for you. Good back support for the driver and the truck will still haul three people when you need to. I think the standard cab seats may have a bit thinner backs than the extended cab seats though.

I just have the ones out of my truck but if you want to test fit before you buy a set you more than welcome to mock one in to see if you like it!! Merry Christmas to you and your Emily and the no limit crew too

Here is my .02 worth, stay with the bench from the late 80's/early 90's. If you're sliding around put suede insert to keep your butt more planted.

Certain year models had a fold down arm rest built in. I'm guessing but I think it was 1993?

When I bought my Burb it had a 2005+ base F250 bench in it... It was nice but I ditched it because the back was too high. I will be using a 73-91 Suburban/truck bench because the mounts are shorter from the floor kick up... I have the same height issue.

Second, if your first post it looks like the exhaust manifolds are GLOWING! I can do that with the sequential turbo setup on a cummins (QSK60), but WOW!!

I cant remember the number but I just bought a set of wiper arms from Kargen. Did not feel like installing blades on those old arms.

Also, you do know any custom pieces you guys at No Limit make for the
C-10, your going to have to make extra to sell to us. LOL
