Hey Bcutt just wondering with all that cab work did you think about shaving the drip ring around your cab makes for an awesome custom look

You Sir have some serious skills!!! I gave up and scraped a truck cab that was in very similar shape. Makes me wish I hadn't gave up on that cab.

I just cut about 2" forward of the rear roof seam with a cut off wheel after drilling out all the spot welds around the drip rail. That way I was able to remove the roof skin and get to the spot welds where the rear roof seam meets the cab. Once those spot welds were drilled out I removed the remaining 2" of the rear skin.

I considered it but wanted to keep the classic look of these truck and I think keeping the drip rail is key to that. I may try it on another truck down the road though

Thanks man, they are all repairable to me now

I considered starting with a less rusted cab but that just felt like cheating and took the originality away from the truck IMO...

Made some more progress on the passenger side door this weekend. Got the lower inner patch cut to fit just need to weld it in. Only 12-15 hours in this door so far

Made a lot of progress since I last posted. Got the whole cab, bottom of cab and doors in Epoxy Primer. Also stripped the bed down into a pile of parts so I can start working on it. Hood, fenders and cowl panel are almost ready for primer as well. I will have more pics of those later and some better pics of the cab outside. It is a huge relief finally getting this stuff in primer... Anyway here are the pics.

Here are a few more pics of the primered cab..Bought a high hump recently and patched the shifter hole today in case I end up using it, got it finished up just didn't take a pic. Hood is about ready for Epoxy as well.

you Sir, have game. Love the sound deadener on the INSIDE of the roof, now that's dedication. At the rate you're going, you'll have to roll down your window to make sure your horn is working.

I was just thinking how much easier it would have been if I started with a rust free cab..but then again what fun would that have been
